Dr. Kurt Ewen, Vice Chancellor of Strategic Planning & Institutional Effectiveness, and Chief of Staff at Houston Community College (HCC), has been named recipient of the prestigious Carl M. “Cheesie” Nelson Award by the Texas Association of Community Colleges (TACC).

Houston Community College Northwest Visual Arts instructors Clara Hoag and Esther Delaquis-Baidoo both contributed pieces to a recent exhibit at the University of Houston’s Blaffer Gallery. Titled, “Bearing Witness,” the three-day show was a fundraiser for the Ukrainian American Cultural Club of Houston and its efforts to aid civilians impacted by the military conflict.
