HCC enrollment shows strong growth for fall semester

Sep 9, 2024

Fall 2024 enrollment at Houston Community College (HCC) jumped 9.4% over the previous year, according to the college’s preliminary data.

The report measures enrollment for 16-week courses as of the 12th day of classes, the official day of record for colleges. Yet to be counted are several additional registration periods for HCC’s Second Start (8-week courses) and four-week courses which begin later in the semester.

The increase marks the fourth consecutive semester of enrollment growth at HCC, which posted a 2023-2024 enrollment of more than 85,000 students.

“We are pleased that growing numbers of students in our service area are making HCC their college choice,” said Chancellor Margaret Ford Fisher, Ed.D. “And, we are grateful for the efforts of our faculty and staff for their work that made our community aware of HCC’s many programs and opportunities.”
